Olive Picking Week

The olive harvest is a unique opportunity to participate in an autumnal ritual that is essential to Italy's agrarian and culinary interests.

Join in the Olive Harvest and enjoy the fruits of the Apulia region,  cooking and eating local foods, drinking local wines, and soaking up the rural beauty of Apulia while staying in a beautiful farmhouse just five minutes from the historic centre of Lecce.

We would like to share with you the joy that this engaging experience brings, seeing the olive pressing by the frantoio and savour the first cold  pressed olive oil of the season. 

The picking of these olives is undertaken entirely by hand. This Oil has an intense green colour, a soft olive fragrance and a full rich flavour.

You will also get a well earned bottle after all your hard work...

        OLIVE PICKING WEEK: (Oct- Nov - Dec)

​

  • Airport assistance upon arrival

  • Arrival transfer from Brindisi Airport or Lecce train station

  • 7 nights accommodation in a farmhouse or masseria around Lecce, based on double occupancy

  • Daily Breakfast

  • Welcome Dinner at a typical restaurant, tasting menu, wine/beverages included

  • three cooking classes with dinner following on the foods prepared in class. Local wine and mineral water included​

  • Winery visit

  • Olive oil short course & tasting

  • visit to Frantoio Ipogeo, an ancient olive press buried in the tufa rock dating back to 17th century

  • Olive Oil factory visit during which you will be participating in olive picking

  • Farewell dinner, wine / beverages included

  • Departure transfer
